Let's face it, there is a stigma involving wine tasting...it can be intimidating or overly complicated. The good news is, it's not meant to be! I'll guide you through the fundamentals of wine tasting and wine vocabulary, allowing you to engage all your senses and thoroughly elevate your enjoyment of wine! Along the way you will learn some fun facts about varieties, wine regions and more. You will gain confidence in your wine tasting skills and I guarantee you will have fun!

my story
What I love most about wine is the way it brings people and cultures together. There is a universal language of wine…smiles, laughter, enjoyment, new friendships, delicious food and great stories.
A few years ago, I decided to turn my passion for wine into something more. I immersed myself into studying wine with the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and emerged with a WSET Level 3 certification. I've always loved science (biology was my favorite) and agriculture; studying wine brings these two together. Plus the learning is never ending! And of course drinking wine along the way is a true bonus!

I love sharing what I've learned about wine with you. It is especially rewarding to me to help eliminate the intimidation of wine tasting so you can relax and enjoy wine the way it's meant to be.
Your wine preferences are subjective, personal to you. The objective part is understanding and identifying the wine characteristics you are drawn to, which will enhance and expand your wine experiences.
I created Uncork with Lisa to share my love of wine, travel, food and entertaining, all while creating new experiences and friendships. I can't wait to drink some wine with you!

I’m married to a German Professor who was born and raised in Mannheim. We love to travel Europe together. Actually, we love adventures anywhere together, road trips too! And of course, we love to share wine together!
If I could live anywhere in the world, I'd choose Italy or Switzerland...both stole my heart.
My very first job as a teen was picking cherries in an orchard. Paid by the bucket!
I have an obsession with Napoletana pizza and love SPICY food!
